Step-by-Step Beginner Guide
New to Last Z? Follow these five essential steps to get your account started the right way. Learn what to focus on first, how to grow your base, why joining an active alliance matters, and how to avoid wasting valuable diamonds and resources.
Start With the Basics
Step 1: Complete the Tutorial
The tutorial teaches you the basic controls, combat mechanics, and base-building systems.
Don't skip it.
Completing the tutorial provides useful early rewards, including:
- Free resources
- Heroes
- Access to essential game features
It only takes around 10–15 minutes and gives you the foundation you need before moving on.
Step 2: Focus on Main Quests
Your Main Quest appears on the left side of your screen and should be your primary roadmap during the beginning of the game.
Following the Main Quest helps unlock:
- New buildings
- Heroes
- Game modes
- Additional features
It's easy to get distracted by exploration and other activities, but those can wait.
Beginner Tip: Focus on your Main Quest until you've established a solid base and understand the game's main systems.
Build, Grow & Find an Alliance
Step 3: Join an Active Alliance
Joining an active alliance is one of the most important things a new player can do.
An active alliance provides:
- Resource help
- Alliance gifts
- Group events
- Help with progression
- Protection and support from other players
Look for an alliance with active members and check its recent activity.
If you join an alliance that isn't active, don't be afraid to switch. Staying in a dead alliance can slow down your progress.
Step 4: Upgrade Your Base
Your Headquarters (HQ) is one of your most important buildings because its level controls much of your future progression.
Prioritize upgrading your HQ while gathering the resources needed for continued growth.
A strong early economy helps you progress faster later.
Use Speed-Ups Wisely
Don't burn through all of your speed-ups on short timers.
Save them when possible for longer and more important upgrades, where they provide much greater value.

Protect Your Diamonds & Claim Free Rewards
Step 5: Save Your Diamonds
Diamonds are valuable, especially for new players.
Avoid wasting them on things such as:
- Random chests
- Unnecessary timer speed-ups
- Purchases that provide little long-term value
Instead, consider saving your diamonds for higher-value opportunities such as:
- Guaranteed hero summons
- Important events such as Lucky Discounter
- VIP upgrades
Patience pays off.
Keeping a healthy diamond reserve gives you more options when valuable events and opportunities appear.
